Bumblebee

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie, on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary yellow VW bug.

With a Tomatometer Score of 93 percent and an Audience Score of 77 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Bumblebee" has become a favorite since its release in December. ReelViews' James Berardinelli said, "The movie works in large part because of the depth of [Hailee] Steinfeld's performance. We haven't seen such a well-realized character in any of the other Transformers movies," while David Fear of Rolling Stone noted, "Imagine if John Hughes made a Transformers movie. Or: Think E.T., but with auto parts."

Captain Marvel

The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With a Tomatometer Score of 78 percent and an Audience Score of 77 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Captain Marvel" is well worth a watch.

"Does it work? The short answer is: yes. There's enough to keep both diehard Marvel fans and newcomers engaged," according to Mark Daniell of the Toronto Sun, while the New Yorker's Anthony Lane said, "Superhero cinema has lectured us, ad infinitum, on the responsibility that is conferred by extraordinary gifts. Praise be to [Brie] Larson, for reminding us that they can be bringers of fun."

You can catch it at UA Galaxy Stadium 14 (8105 E. 96th Ave.) and AMC Indianapolis 17 (4325 S. Meridian St.) through Wednesday, April 3, and UA Circle Centre 9 (49 W. Maryland St.) through Thursday, April 4. Click here for showtimes and tickets.

Aquaman

Once home to the most advanced civilization on Earth, Atlantis is now an underwater kingdom ruled by the power-hungry King Orm. With a vast army at his disposal, Orm plans to conquer the remaining oceanic people and then the surface world. Standing in his way is Arthur Curry, Orm's half-human, half-Atlantean brother and true heir to the throne.

With a Tomatometer Score of 65 percent and an Audience Score of 77 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Aquaman" has been popular with audiences.

"Veteran cinematographer Don Burgess's widescreen images beguile, and Bill Brzeski's production design impresses mightily, but next time, someone please give [Jason] Momoa and company some memorable dialogue," noted Andrea Gronvall of the Chicago Reader, while the Toronto Sun's Mark Daniell said, "A thoroughly entertaining ride."
