Gospel Fest 2019

First, it's Gospel Fest at the Acts Full Gospel Church on Friday. Among the performers will be longtime singer, bass player and producer, Fred Hammond. He'll be joined by James Fortune and Wess Morgan.

MarchFourth, Mission Delirium

Also on Friday, Portland-based performance and musical group MarchForth is at The New Parish. Their mostly-instrumental numbers combine elements of jazz, klezmer, rock and swing. Expect lots of horns, percussion and guitars, as well as stilt walkers, dancers and a generalized circus-like atmosphere. Internationally-influenced dance group Mission Delirium opens.

SHOTTAZ and VP Records presents Strictly the Best Party

Then, it's a free party from VP Records to celebrate two releases in their Strictly the Best reggae series. Numbers 58 and 59 are now out, and feature the likes of Maxi Priest and Beres Hammond. At this event Friday night, DJ G33ZY will mix tracks from those discs with some additional dancehall selections to extend the party well into Saturday.

Milk & Cookies—House Music Dance Party

Finally, on Saturday, it's another free dance party, this time featuring house music from the BoomZilla Sound Collective. Multiple DJs, including special guest Illscience from San Francisco, will keep it going at Satarline Social Club till late. And yes, there will be milk and cookies.
