The nonprofit organization Mentors In Motion began its 2019 songwriting competition on January 22, inviting students from high schools from different areas to submit an original song. The songs highlighted positive aspects of their school and community. The judging committee for the competition selected two top contestants from high schools in the area through submissions. Now, the competition will conclude with a grand finale on May 3 with the red-carpet gala. The first prize winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship to the college or university of their choice and a new Championship Jump Suit for each graduating senior at their high school. A complimentary dinner will also be served.
