A new Mediterranean, Turkish and breakfast and brunch spot has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Cira, the fresh arrival is located at 200 N. Green St. in West Town.
Located on The Hoxton Hotel’s ground floor, this Mediterranean restaurant’s menu from chef Chris Pandel, formerly of Swift & Sons, features unusual flavor combinations and boasts a selection of 100 Old World wines.
You’ll find a Turkish-style breakfast plate with marinated goat cheese, sujuk and simit bread, reports Eater Chicago. Drop by for lunch and try the falafel, lentil soup, lamb shawarma or a sandwich made with butter chicken. Save room for lemon custard or chocolate crème brûlée for dessert.
Cira has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Sofia J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 5, wrote, "All of our food was delicious, beautiful and well timed. Beet starter has an Eastern European taste; octopus is tender and spicy; halibut just melts in your mouth; juicy burger comes with perfect fries; and crispy olives on a rice crema with lavender honey."
And Rob C. wrote, "[It's] three dining formats — cafe, bar and sit down, full service restaurant — are all breathtaking beautiful. ... Waitstaff and managers were all very friendly and attentive to guests' needs. Cira is a slam dunk success. Their chocolate crème brûlée is a must try!"
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Cira is open from 7 a.m.–10 p.m. on weekdays, 7 a.m.–midnight on Saturday and 7 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.
