New Thai spot Yimm opens its doors in RockridgePhoto: Yimm/Yelp

A new Thai spot has opened for business in Rockridge. The new arrival, called Yimm, is located at 6048 College Ave. (at 62nd St.), the former home of Asian fusion spot Osmanthus.

Yimm offers soups, salads, noodles, rice dishes and more. Try the pad see ew noodles with egg, Chinese broccoli, soy sauce and a choice of tofu, chicken, beef, pork or shrimp, or opt for a yellow curry rice plate with coconut milk, potatoes, carrots and onions.

More unusual "home cooking" options include mee cook, cold rice noodles with shredded chicken and vegetables in a tamarind sauce, or green curry with shrimp and avocado.

For dessert, there's a custard bread pudding with pandan or Thai tea custard, or mango with sticky rice. A selection of cocktails is also on offer.

The new addition has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of 11 reviews on Yelp.

Jenny W., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 17, wrote, "The food is absolutely amazing. The mee cook is to-die-for. The cocktails are amazing. And the pandan bread dessert is literally heaven on earth. Also, the service was awesome, and the staff were incredibly warm and sweet."

Yelper Jasinee S. added, “I ordered the kua kai noodle, which [came] out smelling savory. This is very good, authentic Thai food. Recommend.”

Head on over to check it out: Yimm is open from 11:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.–10 p.m. on Tuesday-Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
