In search of a new favorite escape game spot?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top escape rooms around Colorado Springs, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture next time you're in the market for escape games.

1. Sly Fox Escapes

Topping the list is Sly Fox Escapes. Located at 5360 N. Academy Blvd., Suite 160, in northeast Colorado Springs, this is the highest-rated escape game spot in Colorado Springs, boasting five stars out of 32 reviews on Yelp.

The 60-minute adventures include three levels of difficulty, designed for ages 8-88. The three rooms, which change every three months, are based on "The Ancient Temple" in Peru, the evil plans of "The Madd Doctor" and a mysterious force about to be released into the world, under the title "C'thulhu Awakens."

The quests at Sly Fox are designed for teams of two to eight people.

2. Locked In Escapes

Next up is east Colorado Springs' Locked In Escapes, situated at 2760 N. Academy Blvd., Suite 301. With five stars out of 21 reviews on Yelp, the escape game spot has proven to be a local favorite.

"This was by far one of the best escape rooms I've done," wrote Yelp user Michaela A.

The escape room can accommodate teams of up to 10, but it recommends four to eight players for the puzzles. Ages 12 and older are welcome. An adult must be in the room with a group of minors.

The website says the hardest room so far is "Rock Star – The Final Curtain."

3. Escape The Place

Also in east Colorado Springs is Escape The Place, located at 1103 N. Circle Drive. It's another top choice, with Yelpers giving the five-room escape game spot 4.5 stars out of 33 reviews.

The website says the game rooms have varying success rates, from 60-70% solved to 3-4% solved. If you're up for the challenge, you'll be locked in the room of your choice for 60 minutes — unless you escape first. Each room has an age limit, and minors must be accompanied by a paying adult in the room.

The number of people in a room depends on which room is chosen. Among the options are a "black" site and a hotel room with a shadowy story.

4. Hellscream Haunted House

Hellscream Haunted House, a haunted house and escape game spot in central Colorado Springs, is another go-to, with four stars out of 20 Yelp reviews. Head over to 3021 N. Hancock Ave. to see for yourself.

Yelp user Chelsea S. wrote, "The actors are amazing. ... Hands down, best escape room."

Customers get to select the difficulty level as well as the scare level. There's a penitentiary, an elevator and a manor to choose from, and escape ratings — with and without clues — are listed on the website.

The escape rooms are not recommended for children under 10, and parents/guardians are advised to use discretion.

5. Escaped In Time

Back to east Colorado Springs, check out Escaped In Time, which has earned five stars out of 12 reviews on Yelp. You can find the escape game spot at 4442 Barnes Road.

You will have one hour to find the clues, solve the puzzles and locate the key that will unlock the door, the website states.

The rooms, which can accommodate two to eight players, are a not-so-sweet "Sweet Dreams," the pirate-inspired "The Lost Soul" and the strange land of "We're All Mad Here."

Escape in Time bills itself as family friendly, with no age limit. However, it is recommended for those age 8 and older.
