Barbara (her given name, although she prefers Babs or Babbie) is 12 years old. She still perks up when it's time for a walk. So enthusiastic is she that she will jump as high as two feet, straight up. She doesn't always stick the landing, but it does show she's good and ready for some exercise. She's good on leash and keeps her head when strange dogs pass by. She's good with other dogs, sliding right into her foster pack after a few days, but she would be just as fine as an only dog, which she was most of her life prior to coming into rescue. She is not tested around cats or ambulatory children; she is not thrilled with babies and toddlers. She was given a clean bill of health by the vet, although she does have cataracts that affect her vision. She is a healthy girl despite this. Her personality is friendly without the need to be right by your side. She is often found napping in her crate.

Meet Sissy. This beauty has been through a lot in her short two years of life. Sissy came to us from Tuba City with four babies. The four babies were found in a box outside of Autozone, but when the person helping came back to grab them, mom was in the box too! All her puppies have found forever homes and now it is her turn. Sissy was a super momma, then had to have a diaphragmatic hernia repair. Sissy is now recovered and ready to meet her forever family. Sissy loves to be near her human and is very loving to all humans.

Hi there! Smokey here. I am a very handsome four (almost five)- year-old beagle boy who came all the way from Texas to the wonderful volunteers at Arizona Beagle Rescue. I do have some separation anxiety, so I would most likely be better in a home where people are not gone for long periods of time. I can be a little jealous and possessive of my home and people, so I would prefer to be in a home where I am the only dog (and no young kids). My family says that I can be quite cuddly and a real snuggle bug at home when I am not worried about other dog(s) in the house.

Harper is currently in a foster home with three other dogs and gets along great with them. She doesn’t play with them much but is coming out of her shell a little more each day.
