Thanks for being a loyal Hoodline reader! Next week, we're going to be launching a new look for our San Francisco site, and we want to let our SF readers know in advance about the changes we're making.
Though we started as a neighborhood-centric site, Hoodline now serves nearly 50 cities across the U.S., delivering thousands of automated local stories to communities each month.
In keeping with that mission, we're introducing a new, streamlined look across all of our city sites — including San Francisco, the city where it all started.
As part of that process, we're going to be discontinuing the neighborhood filters currently available on the right-hand side of the San Francisco homepage. Instead, hoodline.com/news will show readers stories from all corners of San Francisco and Oakland, starting with the most recent headlines and moving backwards from there.

But if you only want to see the latest headlines from your preferred San Francisco neighborhoods, never fear. You can still get up-to-the-minute notifications for your favorite neighborhoods by signing up for our email newsletter.
To sign up for the newsletter, enter your email into the drop-down menu in the top-right corner of the homepage.

We'll send a confirmation email to your inbox. Once you've chosen a name and password for your Hoodline account, you'll be able to customize the emails you receive.
If you want to subscribe to news from a specific neighborhood (or a few!), choose the "Story notifications" option, which will email you every time we publish a story in your neighborhood(s) of choice. You'll also get an email when we run citywide stories.
If you're looking to get fewer emails from us, you can choose our daily or weekly email digests — but please note that you won't be able to select a specific neighborhood(s) for these emails, which cover all of SF.

You can adjust your preferences at any time through the link at the bottom of each email.
We know these changes might affect your regular reading habits, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience. The new design will also offer some upsides for readers, including better searchability and faster page load times.
If you have any feedback for our design team, feel free to email us at [email protected]. Thanks for reading Hoodline!
