Kittens in Colorado Springs looking for their fur-ever homesPhotos: Petfinder

Interested in adopting a pet — or just gazing at some cute-as-can-be kittens? There are dozens of great kittens up for adoption at animal shelters in and around Colorado Springs.

Animal shelters work hard to care for unhoused pets and connect them to loving homes. Hoodline used data from Petfinder to power this roundup of kittens currently available for adoption.

(Details like pet availability, training, vaccinations and other features are based on data provided by Petfinder and may be subject to change; contact the shelter for the latest information.)

Pistol, domestic shorthair mix

Pistol is a sweet male domestic shorthair kitten currently housed at Happy Cats Haven.

He has all his shots. Have no fear: He has already been house-trained.

More about Pistol:

I am an active five-month-old kitten who has a lot of fun, playful energy. I love playing with puzzles and tunnels, and don't get me started about my love of feather toys. I am very treat-motivated and smart, so training me to do tricks should be easy. When I'm done playing, I enjoy lying on your lap or next to you for a nap full of purrs. I came to Happy Cats when my previous owner could no longer take care of me. Since then, I have been in foster care getting the socialization I needed. I would do well in a home with other nice cats but probably would not do well with small children or dogs. When I get stressed, I become growly and hissy, so I need someone who is patient and is willing to help me feel safe in my new home.

Dobby, domestic shorthair mix

Dobby is a male domestic shorthair kitten being cared for at Happy Cats Haven.

His vaccinations are up to date. Good news: He's already house-trained.

Notes on Dobby:

I’m a three-month-old male black kitten with hidden gray highlights. I have the vocal cords of an opera singer with my long-lasting meows, which usually come when I am getting fed. I’m a sweet little playful boy and love any affection that is given to me. Although I like being with my brothers, Chungus and Catski, if you have other four-legged family members and lots of attention for me, I will be happy. Even if I’m busy doing other things, if I hear you coming, I will run to you and enjoy your company. When my mom was found as a pregnant stray we were brought to Happy Cats and put into foster care where we were able to feel safe and blossom. I will do well in almost any home as long as everyone is nice.

Catski, tabby and domestic shorthair mix

Catski is a male tabby and domestic shorthair kitten currently housed at Happy Cats Haven.

Catski has been vaccinated. Good news: He has already been house-trained.

Notes about Catski:

I’m a three-month-old beautiful tabby boy. I am the life of the party and will play until I fall over asleep. I love laps and playing and cuddling with my brother Chungus. Although I am one of the biggest kittens in my litter, I am no bully. I enjoy yoga and will do my best to distract you from the uncomfortable poses. I am also content sitting on your lap. I would do well in most homes, and if you have other nice pets I would do well with them too. I am really attached to my brother Chungus and would need to go home with him.

Sirius, domestic shorthair mix

Sirius is a charming male domestic shorthair kitten being cared for at Happy Cats Haven.

He's been vaccinated. Have no fear: He has already been house-trained.

More about Sirius:

You won't find a sweeter, more loving little black pantherette than me. I came here from Pueblo and have been in a loving foster home, getting my bearings and confidence back from my big move. Now I'm all happy again and ready to find my forever family. I'm still very much a kitten in a cat's body, ready to chase around and entertain you for hours at playtime. If you have other active, friendly kitties, I'm sure I will fit right in with them. I'm not a fan of being held, but I do love to hang out with you, so will make a great sidecar cat, purring and helping with whatever you need. My big chartreuse eyes won't miss a thing. I do great with older kids too, but I haven't been around small children or dogs yet. I'm a happy little tyke, though, so a gentle introduction will probably do the trick, as long as younger children don't try to pick me up.

Twila, domestic shorthair mix

Twila is a charming female domestic shorthair kitten staying at Happy Cats Haven.

No need to worry: She has already house-trained. Her vaccinations are already up to date.

More about Twila:

I'm an adorable little black pantherette with velvet fur and big amber eyes, just like my almost-twin brother Onyx. He's a little bigger than me and doesn't have the soft smokey patch on his chest. We were rescued from trying to survive outside with our family. Everyone else has been adopted, and we’re so ready for our forever home. I do appreciate a formal introduction when getting to know you, as life outside was a little scary for us. But I'm the snuggle bunny of the two, the one who is ready with head bonks and purrs once I get to know you. I have my big brother's back, helping him be more confident too, once he knows I'm purring and happy. We’re both still babies, so there won’t be any shortage of antics when you get out the cat toys. We love to romp and play, just like any little kitten. Onyx and I have been through a lot and need to go home together.

Havilah, domestic shorthair and tabby mix

Havilah is a female domestic shorthair and tabby kitten currently housed at Wild Blue Animal Rescue and Sanctuary.

Have no fear: She's already house-trained. She has been vaccinated.

More about Havilah:

I was born on March 23. I am the runt of the litter but can hold my own with the rest of them. I love to play with my siblings and climb the cat tree. My six siblings and I came to Wild Blue along with our mama on the same day we were born. I am so ready for my forever home.

Yakitori, domestic shorthair

Yakitori is a male domestic shorthair kitten currently housed at Wild Blue Animal Rescue and Sanctuary.

He's mastered his house-training etiquette. Yakitori is vaccinated.

Notes on Yakitori:

I'm a super talkative, playful, sweet and loving black kitten. My siblings and I were found in a woodpile in Colorado Springs. Our momma wouldn't take us back after we were caught. We have come a long way from when we were first rescued. We love to play, eat and sleep right now. I'm a climber and am not afraid of much. I like to play with ball toys, jump on my siblings and you. I will purr when I'm getting sleepy.
