Nonprofit organization Mentors In Motion began its 2019 songwriting competition on January 22, inviting students from each area high school to submit an original song highlighting positive aspects of their school andcommunity. The competition and judging committee selected the top two contestants from area high schools through submissions, and these contestants produced two videos in March. The competition will conclude with a grand finale on May 3, with the red carpet gala. The first prize winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship to the college/university of their choice.
