A man of unknown age suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a driver at Jones and Eddy streets on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. Sunday. The male driver, whose age was not given, was headed southbound on Jones Street when the pedestrian "walked into the street between vehicles," police say.

After being struck by the driver, the victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital in critical condition.

The news comes just a week after 66-year-old pedestrian Mark Swink died in the Tenderloin. He was struck by a Golden Gate Transit bus at Hyde Street and Golden Gate Avenue.

Both intersections have been identified as high-injury corridors under the city's Vision Zero plan, which aims to eliminate traffic fatalities by 2024.
