Chef Outta Water is a cultural exchange program between Oregon and Australia. Operating since 2016, the collaboration aims to connect people in the food industry and community with a focus on enhancing culinary and cultural “Sense of Place” experiences. Returning to Oregon and Portland in June, Chef Outta Water will feature Australian chefs Barney Hannagan from Melbourne born cafe Proud Mary, chef Michael Brine from A Touch Of Salt in Queensland, Australia, and Chris Holen from Baked Alaska Restaurant in Astoria, Oregon. The event will highlight indigenous foods to create an inspired dinner, utilizing native Australian bush foods and Oregon produced and foraged ingredients to curate a dinner that is sure to raise the senses of what was resourced by our indigenous peoples.
