Hungry? A new neighborhood Asian fusion spot has you covered. The newcomer to Midtown, called Ponko Chicken, is located at 915 W. Peachtree St., Suite 6.

Ponko in Midtown emerged from the culinary melting pot of Chamblee, home of its sister location, which opened last year. The creation of two third-generation Japanese-American sisters, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ponko applies the Tokyo-born tonkatsu technique for crispy-fried pork cutlets to chicken tenders (and tofu for those who prefer it).

With a motto of "Where eats meets West," it also serves up gourmet, all-beef hot dogs, tacos, salads, slaw, fries, green beans and other delectables, as well as craft cocktails.

Ponko Chicken has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 36 reviews on Yelp.

Margaret H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 30, wrote, "This place exceeded every expectation! ... The chicken is fried, but lightly and has so much flavor."

Yelper Marissa G. added, “Delicious food, great service!”

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Ponko is open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
