Continuing the family legacy of mixing Brazilian music with jazz and pop music styles, Eyedentity was founded by vocalist Diana Purim, daughter of percussion legend Airto Moreira and iconic vocalist Flora Purim, and percussionist/rapper Krishna Booker, son of longtime Cannonball Adderley bassist Walter Booker and nephew of Wayne Shorter. Named for Moreira’s classic 1975 album, Identity, the band blends neo-soul, funk, hip-hop and electronic music with deep samba grooves and jazz-steeped improvisation. In this special occasion, Eyedentity will play a mix of their own original compositions with traditional jazz and Brazilian tunes.
