There's a brand-new Filipino deli in town. Located at 11910 Greenville Ave., Suite 103, in Lake Highlands, the fresh addition is called Marie’s Kitchen.
According to the cafe's Facebook page, Marie’s Kitchen serves "all-day American and Filipino breakfast, paninis, sandwiches, salads and more," and also provides catering services for corporate events, meetings, parties and other gatherings. Menu items range from pancakes, a variety of omelets, a BLT sandwich and taco salad to chicken fingers with french fries, a cheese quesadilla and a sizable list of Filipino breakfast silog fare like Bangsilog, which includes fried milkfish, two eggs and rice.
The new deli has proven quite popular thus far, having garnered a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
Ryan N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new eatery on August 23, wrote, "Perfect place to get a Filipino-style breakfast! They also offer non-Filipino breakfast items. ... Each meal comes with fried rice, two eggs, achara (pickled papaya) and two pieces of Thai chili. Everything was delicious!"
Yelper Jed P. added, “If you're looking for a Filipino restaurant that is made-to-order, look no further. ... All the silogs I've tried are great. The meats are cooked perfectly. The garlic rice is perfectly garlicky, not super overpowering. Eggs are nice and runny."
Head on over to check it out: Marie’s Kitchen is open from 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. on weekdays. (It's closed on weekends.)
