A new teppanyaki spot, offering ramen and more, has opened for business in the neighborhood. The fresh addition to Grant Park, called Hotto Hotto Ramen & Teppanyaki, is located at 1039 Grant St. SE, Suite B10.

The self-described gourmet Japanese ramen restaurant features made-from-scratch dishes. Ramen options include braised pork belly, sliced chicken breast, spicy shrimp wontons and vegan ramen with fried tofu. Broth-less ramen, honey chicken and waffles and teppan omurice with house-ground chicken fried rice are also on offer.

Hotto Hotto Ramen & Teppanyaki has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a four-star rating out of 20 reviews on Yelp.

Julie N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 11, wrote, "I had the teriyaki chicken and it was cooked perfectly. The Asian slaw had just the right amount of vinegar and sweet. It was a large portion too."

And Vincent M. wrote, "We had the sapporo ramen. The broth is the real winner here. It is a really deep flavorful broth that makes the ramen really stand out. The rib tip stew was definitely a good call for a broth-less ramen. You could tell the rib tip stew had been cooking for a good long time."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Hotto Hotto Ramen & Teppanyaki is open from 11:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Tuesday-Friday, noon-midnight on Saturday and noon - 8 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday).
