We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to uncover which eateries have been getting a noteworthy increase in attention this month.
To find out who made the list, we looked at Dallas businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers, compared to past performance.

Hero

This sports bar and traditional American gastropub is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "American (Traditional)" on Yelp.
Citywide, traditional American spots saw a median 1.9% increase in new reviews over the past month, but Hero saw a 39.7% increase, with a slight upward trend from a four-star rating a month ago to 4.5 stars today. Moreover, on a month-to-month basis, Hero's review count increased by more than 140%.
It's not the only trending outlier in the traditional American category: Slater's 50/50 has seen a 28.2% increase in reviews, and Rodeo Goat and 3 Eleven Kitchen & Cocktails have seen 26.7 and 11.7% increases, respectively.

There's more than one hot spot trending in Dallas' bar category: Doc B's Restaurant + Bar has seen an 8.3% increase in reviews, and Nori Handroll Bar and Delucca Gaucho Pizza & Wine have seen 7.9 and 7.3% increases, respectively.
