A new butcher has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The new addition to Kirkwood, called Evergreen Butcher and Baker, is located at 2011 Hosea L Williams Drive.
This spot doubles as a butcher shop and bakery. It offers free-range meats that come directly from local farmers. There is also a strong no-waste mentality in which all parts of the animals are utilized.
The new arrival has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Rusty Z., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 6, wrote, "I just finished a leftover ribeye and I'm in a heavenly meat coma. The color of the meat was perfect. There was no gray or brown and the slab of uncut steaks showed perfect marbling with very little exterior fat."
And Nathan H. wrote, "As a connoisseur of great breads and pastries, I am glad I discovered this spot! I have not had such fresh and satisfying bread and pastries since a trip to France."
