New gastropub District 6 now open in Rock Creek Lexington RoadPhoto: District 6/Yelp

A new gastropub has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 3930 Shelbyville Road in Rock Creek Lexington Road, the fresh arrival is called District 6.

District 6 offers traditional and modern Vietnamese-style cuisine, according to its website. On the menu, expect to see items like pan-fried veggie dumplings, noodle bowls and signature dishes like honey-glazed chicken. Pair those plates with a cocktail or Kentucky-style blackberry wine sorbet.

With a five-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp so far, the new gastropub has already made a good impression.

Jeff B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 29, wrote, "For the main course, I got the drunken beef. The texture of the beef was so tender and succulent. My wife enjoyed her pho. It tasted fresh and herbal to me, which was very refreshing."

Yelper Vanessa R. added, “My husband and I shared the wontons and the sweet and spicy cauliflower. If all vegetarian dishes were prepared like the cauliflower, I might be tempted to give up meat. I also had the pho and my husband had the noodle soup. Both were tasty."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. District 6 is open from 11:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m. on Friday, noon–10:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon–9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
