Walker's Exchange brings traditional American fare to Central Business DistrictPhoto: Walker's Exchange/Yelp

If you've got traditional American on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Located at 140 N. Fourth St., Floor 2, W. Tower in Central Business District, the newcomer is called Walker's Exchange.

Walker's Exchange has southern-inspired dishes available for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Menu items range from short rib southern hand pies to wild salmon to cast iron skillet cinnamon rolls.

According to the business's Facebook page, "Walker's Exchange is a New American Brasserie concept opening soon on the 2nd floor of the Galt House Hotel."

Walker's Exchange has received mixed reviews thus far, with a 2.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.

Jim R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 8, wrote, "We were greeted and seated very promptly but our particular table was very dark and uninviting. A couple candles would really help the ambiance. Our server was great and attentive to our needs that she could control but that was the highlight."

And Yelper Sarah V. wrote, "The food and drinks were so delicious and the service was over the top. I couldn't get enough hush puppies, cheesy grits and chicken and dumplings."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Walker's Exchange is open from 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.–10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.
