A Tenderloin-based plant store has selected the Castro as the site of its newest location. As we previously reported, the married couple that runs Plant Therapy has deep ties to the neighborhood, with co-owner Chai Saechao having once managed the Castro Starbucks. In addition to a wide array of house plants, Plant Therapy, which opened its flagship in the Tenderloin back in August 2018, offers "interior greening" services for your home or other personal spaces, as well as workshops, including a regular "Plants and Wine" night. See the business's website for more details.

Plant Therapy currently holds 4.5 stars out of five reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper Katherine M., who reviewed Plant Therapy on Dec. 8, wrote, "The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. And the owner, Chai, is the best. He will go the extra mile to make sure you leave his shop happy and excited for your new plant babies."

Plant Therapy is open from 11 a.m.–6:30 p.m. daily.

Healing Cuts

Taking over the former Sky Nails storefront is a new barber shop called Healing Cuts. Healing Cuts aims to serve clients who have "mobility issues or other challenges that prevent them from taking care of their daily hygienic needs," owner Ismael De Luna told Hoodline. The inclusive and LGBTQ-friendly shop provides a full selection of cut, trim and grooming services, and De Luna is currently offering a $10 discount to veterans and seniors.

Yelp users are excited about Healing Cuts, which currently holds five stars out of eight reviews on the site.

Yelper Omar S., who reviewed Healing Cuts on Dec. 1, wrote, "I don't usually post reviews on here, but I got a haircut recently from Ismael, and I just want to say by far the best service I have ever received. He stayed late with me to make sure my hair was perfect, all while having an amazing conversation."

Healing Cuts is open from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. on Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m.–4 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)

Bhoga

Cocktail bar and Indian spot Bhoga has finally opened up, following years of permitting delays. The new restaurant, whose name means "sensory pleasure" in Sanskrit, offers elevated small, medium and large plates that highlight organic and seasonal ingredients. Stop in for asparagus soup with ginger and coconut, grilled prawns with chili garlic chutney and favorites like palak paneer and butter chicken. To drink, there are beer, wine and craft cocktails.

Open at last, Bhoga now faces a new round of controversy: Owner Prem Makkena, who also owns Deccan Spice, has been accused of wage theft by some of his past employees. (Find the story here.)

The allegations have yet to discourage diners, who have so far given Bhoga 4.5 stars out of 58 reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Joh O., who reviewed Bhoga on Jan. 4, wrote, "All perfect. Seriously. Priced fairly for the location. We'll be back."

Bhoga is open from 4–10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and 4–11:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Tuesday.)
