Oakland is seeing strong demand for managers' skills. Employers in the industry posted 66 new jobs over the past week, and 320 in the last month, more than for any other job category in the area, according to ZipRecruiter, a leading online employment marketplace.

Local manager also came in first in terms of local employers adding new jobs by occupation. In the past month, 101 companies listed open jobs for Oakland-based workers in the industry.

One of the top employers seeking local managers is East Oakland Community Project, "a dynamic and growing organization that provides safety net and rapid re-housing services to a diverse base of homeless individuals in Alameda County, including single adults, families, young adults, seniors and people living with HIV/AIDS," according to one of the company's recently posted job openings.

Other top companies seeking local hires in the same category include Odoo, Inc., which released "the most disruptive enterprise management software in the world: Odoo," according to one of its recent job listings.

Jobs posted by East Oakland Community Project in the past month in the area also included program managers and accountants, while Odoo, Inc. was hiring account executives, and West Wind Drive-In and Public Market sought customer service representatives and maintenance specialists.
