Topping the list is La Mar Cebichería Peruana. Located at the Embarcadero's Pier 1 1/2, the Peruvian seafood restaurant is the most popular high-end Latin American restaurant in San Francisco, boasting four stars out of 3,697 reviews on Yelp. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, La Mar Cebichería Peruana offers a full menu of Peruvian-style ceviche, as well as elevated sides, starters and meat dishes.

Yelper Hannibal C., who reviewed La Mar Cebichería Peruana on Feb. 1, wrote, "Don't usually write Yelp reviews, but we had an amazing server, it was an amazing day, and we had great food."

Julie L. noted, "Go to happy hour here. Food is so good. The ceviches are delicious, and the empanadas are too."

2. Espetus Brazilian Steak House

Next up is Civic Center's Espetus Brazilian Steak House, situated at 1686 Market St. (at Gough Street). Eater San Francisco named this spot among "The 15 Top Steakhouses in San Francisco," and with four stars out of 3,405 reviews on Yelp, it has proved to be a favorite for Yelpers looking to indulge.

Hungry for more?

According to its Yelp page, "the flavors of Brazil come alive at Espetus Churrascaria with the Bay Area's very first rodizio-style restaurant, where several different cuts of succulent, premium-quality beef, lamb, chicken, pork and seafood are slowly roasted on open flames and served tableside by Brazilian gaucho chefs."

3. Lolinda

The Mission's Lolinda, located at 2518 Mission St. (between 21st and 22nd streets), is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the fancy Argentine steakhouse, which also offers tapas and more, four stars out of 1,969 reviews.

Lolinda specializes in cuisine "inspired by Latin America, Spain and Argentina," according to Yelp, serving a slew of sustainable meats, including "seven different types of grass-fed, grain-finished beef cuts, ranging from short ribs to blood sausage," which are cooked over a wood-fired grill.

Then there's Piqueo's in Bernal Heights, with four stars out of 649 Yelp reviews. Run by chef Carlos Altamirano, who also heads Mochica and La Costanera, Piqueo's specializes in Peruvian-style small plates. Head over to 830 Cortland Ave. (at the corner of Cortland and Gates Street) to check out this restaurant, which has been in business since 2007.

We looked to Yelp for additional information about Piqueo's.

"Chef Altamirano incorporates his understanding of authentic Peruvian ingredients with his devotion to cooking to create a truly unique Latin American experience," the business notes on Yelp. "His love for great food is the cornerstone of our menu and reputation. At Piqueo's, our creations are always made with love and served with passion."
