Armed Robber Terrorizes Redwood City Business District: Police Seek Public Help

Redwood City residents are on alert as the Redwood City Police Department (RCPD) seeks public assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for a series of armed robberies that took place last year. The incidents, which occurred between October 6, 2022, and November 18, 2022, have raised concerns for the safety of local businesses and their employees, as stated in a press release shared today.

Investigators are trying to piece together the events surrounding each robbery, looking for similarities or patterns that could help identify the suspect. In the press release, the RCPD provided photographs of the suspect captured during the incidents, urging members of the public to come forward if they recognize the individual, asking them to contact Detective Trinh at 650-780-7620. 

The armed robberies took place at two separate locations: the area of El Camino Real and Chestnut Street, and the 900 block of Whipple Avenue, both within Redwood City. These two locations are home to numerous small businesses, which appear to be the primary targets in this string of crimes; consequently, small business owners and their employees are understandably on edge, worried about what might happen if the suspect strikes again.
