The alarming trend of deliberately set fires in various locations throughout the southern Santa Clara County has left property damage in its wake, with no injuries reported so far, as Gilroy Dispatch noted. The fires have occurred in spots such as First Street, Monterey Road, and Lilly Avenue, creating a sense of urgency among residents and local authorities to apprehend the suspected firestarter before more damage is done.
Collaborating closely with the Gilroy Fire Department, the Gilroy Police Department has been working diligently to determine the cause of the fires and gather sufficient evidence for a successful arrest. To aid their search, the police have released two photos of a person of interest, one of whom features a man wearing a black cap, a black t-shirt with a graphic, a black jacket with white stripes, and green shoes, and another photo displaying a man on a bicycle wearing a black cap, gray t-shirt, dark pants, white shoes, and carrying what appears to be a black backpack.
