
A shooting incident in El Cajon left one person injured, while the authorities managed to arrest the suspect shortly after the event on July 10, 2023, according to the El Cajon Police Department press release. Just past 11 a.m., multiple gunshots were heard at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Van Houten, and responding officers located one victim who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper leg, as reported by both The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Police were able to rapidly locate the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Quinton Darensbourg, in the 200 block of El Cajon Boulevard; a swift arrest was made and the firearm was recovered. According to the El Cajon Police Department, there are no additional suspects, victims, or firearms, bringing a sense of relief to the community in the midst of all this chaos. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect travel north from the crime scene, helping the police focus their search.
The victim was promptly transported to a hospital for medical treatment after being removed from the scene by officers. The El Cajon Police Department stated that the suspect and victim appeared to know each other before the shooting, with an argument taking place prior to the gunfire. However, the cause of the argument remains unknown so far, and the investigation is still ongoing.
