Walnut Creek in Search for Missing Elderly Man

A Walnut Creek elderly man, Boris Popov, mysteriously disappeared from his home on July 29th, seemingly leaving his wallet and keys behind, according to a recent Facebook post from the Walnut Creek Police Department.

The 73-year-old man, who speaks Russian and very limited English, was last seen leaving his residence in the 300 block of N. Civic Dr. at approximately 2 pm. He is described as being 6'1" with blond hair and blue eyes, and was wearing a hiking hat, grey vest, t-shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes at the time of his disappearance.

Concerned community members have quickly mobilized in response to the urgent request for public assistance issued by the Walnut Creek Police Department, taking to social media to share Boris's photo and information in the hopes of generating leads that may help locate him, and even organizing search parties to cover more ground in the immediate area of his last known whereabouts.
