A 61-year-old man riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old on Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla, according to a Times of San Diego report.
The collision, which took place on Sunday, August 6th, around 9:01 p.m. at the intersection of Little Street and Torrey Pines Road, involved a 2016 Dodge Challenger driven by a 19-year-old who allegedly stopped at a stop sign at the intersection before making a westbound turn onto Torrey Pines Road, Fox5 San Diego reported.
As the car completed its turn, the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, heading westbound on Torrey Pines Road, crashed into the side front fender of the Dodge Challenger, leading to severe injuries to the motorcycle rider, and the driver of the Dodge remained uninjured.
Injuries sustained by the motorcyclist included multiple fractures to his right femur. Thankfully, alcohol or drugs were not believed to have been factors in the accident, per the Times of San Diego, and it seems that the event could have been a series of unfortunate timing and decision-making.
