An 8-year-old boy was injured Wednesday, after being pinned against a wall by a vehicle in the Miramar neighborhood of San Diego, according to FOX 5 San Diego. This unfortunate accident occurred when a 42-year-old woman attempted to move her silver Honda Civic but reversed by mistake, inadvertently causing serious injury to the child.
The child suffered a fractured femur and abrasions, but despite the severity of the injury, he was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As reported by Patch, the incident took place at 7:38 p.m. on the 7900 block of Arjons Drive. San Diego Police Department officers responded swiftly to the scene, learning that the woman unintentionally reversed her car, pinning the 8-year-old boy against the curb and a wall. Upon realization, it is likely the woman suffered from deep shock and remorse for her actions, as such a tragedy could not have been part of her plan for the evening.
Given the serious nature of the accident, the San Diego Police Traffic Division launched an investigation. They have called upon the public to seek information related to the accident and to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 if anyone has any pertinent information to share.
