The Alameda County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant in Hayward that led to the recovery of guns, cocaine, and marijuana.
According to a Facebook post from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, detectives searched a residence in the 21000 block of Princeton Street in Hayward targeting a convicted felon believed to be in possession of firearms. Discovering four firearms, including an AR-15-style rifle and a handgun with a drum magazine.
The semi-automatic rifle found, equipped with a 30-round removable magazine, collapsible stock, and pistol grip, was classified as an assault weapon. The Glock handgun, loaded with a 50-round drum magazine and affixed with an auto-sear, was identified as a machine pistol capable of fully automatic fire. These findings highlight the gravity of such illegal possessions, and the consequential risks posed to communities.
Detectives continued their search, 4.6 ounces of cocaine and 1.75 pounds of marijuana intended for sale were also uncovered.
The operation resulted in the arrest of an adult male, booked into the Santa Rita Jail for possession for sale of narcotics, and the detainment of a 17-year-old juvenile male, processed at the Juvenile Justice Center for firearms possession.
