Today, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) announced the arrest of Malik Jelks for the homicide of Jemilen Enoch, which took place on March 19, 2023, in Oakland's 1000 block of 82nd Avenue according to OPD's official statement

Tragically, Jemilen Enoch, a victim suffering from gunshot wounds, was found by law enforcement in the aforementioned location just before 9:30 PM on the night of the incident. The Oakland Fire Department personnel arrived shortly after, only to pronounce the victim as deceased as reported by OPD.

The OPD Homicide Section continued to work diligently in collaboration with the US Marshals. Finally, on Monday, after months of thorough investigation, Jelks was safely taken into custody in Antioch.

In response to the arrest, the Alameda County District Attorney's Office has officially charged Malik Jelks for his involvement in the crime.
