On August 28th, a routine traffic stop in Livermore, California, took an unforeseen turn when police officers discovered over $1,000 in cash and a variety of illicit drugs in a driver's vehicle. Christopher Bellemare, a 42-year-old San Francisco resident, was driving a 2007 Gray Jeep Liberty when he was pulled over by the Livermore Police for a suspended registration, according to a Facebook post by the Livermore Police Department.
During the stop, officers found that Bellemare was also driving with a suspended license. This raised suspicions, and after searching the vehicle, they made a concerning discovery. The police seized over two grams of LSD, over 14 grams of MDMA, 36 grams of psilocybin, and drug paraphernalia, as mentioned in the same Facebook post.
Bellemare was subsequently arrested and charged on several drug-related counts, including sale or transportation of a controlled substance and possession for sale of a controlled substance. He was then transported to Santa Rita Jail.
