Last Sunday, the streets of downtown Boston became a battlefield as a group of juveniles refused to heed police orders and engage in a violent confrontation with officers. The chaos ultimately led to the arrest of five individuals, all of whom are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court. According to the Boston Police Department, officers from multiple districts, including Transit Police and Massachusetts State Police, swarmed on the scene in response to reports of active fighting. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, the situation soon spiraled out of control with the group not only blocking traffic but also causing significant property damage. Authorities even witnessed a 13-year-old boy jump onto continuously stomping the roof of a parked car.
Rather than dissipate under the commands of police, the agitated juveniles chose to escalate the situation. An officer attempting to break up a fight was subsequently pushed to the ground, repeatedly punched and kicked by the group. Another resulting attempt to help was met with similar violence, including being placed in a chokehold.
