Boston Latin School emerged as the state's number one institution, according to NBC Boston.

Following closely behind Boston Latin in the state rankings were Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Hadley and the Bromfield School in Harvard. However, their achievements were overshadowed by the absence of a Massachusetts representative among the nation's top ten schools.

Among the factors evaluated in the rankings are college readiness, state assessment scores, graduation rates, and the performance of underserved students. As The Boston Globe reported, the coveted national list also considers the breadth of the schools' curriculum, as well as their students' math, reading, and science scores.

Acknowledging the achievements of local schools, Patch listed Lexington High School, Belmont High School, and Acton-Boxborough Regional High School among the upper echelons in Massachusetts. All these institutions were highly ranked within the state and say they are poised to rise further in the national rankings in the coming years.
