On August 27th, a 32-year-old woman from San Diego died in a devastating wrong-way collision on Interstate 15, near the Serra Mesa neighborhood.
According to ABC 10 News, the woman was driving her black Honda Fit in the southbound lanes when a white Infiniti QX30, driven by a 25-year-old man, careened northbound on the same side. The vehicles collided, leaving the woman dead at the scene while her female passenger sustained major injuries. The Infiniti continued to plow its way onwards, subsequently colliding with a tan Nissan Altima before coming to a halt.
It appears that alcohol and/or drugs are suspected factors in the tragedy, as reported by FOX 5 San Diego. The 25-year-old driver faces an uncertain future as the California Highway Patrol (CHP) continues its investigation into the crash, and the potential charges he may face remain unknown, at least for now.
The CHP's investigation into the August 27th crash is ongoing, and witnesses and those with information are encouraged to contact their San Diego Area office at 858-293-6000, as stated by ABC 10 News.
