Early this morning, a 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck the East Bay area. At approximately 7:44 a.m., the United States Geological Survey (USGS) detected the quake near Alamo, less than two miles from Walnut Creek and Mount Diablo, along the Calaveras Fault.

USGS data reveals that the tremor had a depth of about six miles, which, while certainly noticeable, resulted in no reported injuries, as ABC7 News noted.

Although the East Bay area is no stranger to earthquakes due to its location near the Calaveras Fault, quakes of this magnitude are infrequent, often leading to heightened anxiety among residents when they do occur. As it stands now, no significant damage or disruption has been reported as a result of the quake.
