Aan elderly couple from Seaside, Jose and Maria Dutra, have been reported missing since yesterday, sparking concerns for their safety as they both suffer from medical conditions that could be detrimental if left unaddressed according to the Gilroy Police Department. With Jose diagnosed with dementia and Maria possibly displaying early signs of the same illness, the couple's family and law enforcement are leading a desperate search and urgently appealing to the public for any information that might lead to their recovery.
The last contact with their family was on August 30th, around 10:30 pm, when the pair relayed that they were parked in what seemed to be a lot featuring a Target and a Jack in the Box restaurant, potentially in the Gilroy area. The retired couple intended to visit Casa De Fruta at 10021 Pacheco Pass Hwy, a popular destination within their beloved community, but it appears they never reached their planned rendezvous site.
The missing vehicle is a 2011 light brown or gold Honda CRV SUV with California license plate 6RWS841. The vehicle might be displaying front-end damage and could potentially be secured with silver duct-tape. And so, in a race against time, the family and authorities are urging everyone to be on the lookout for any sign of the elderly couple or their damaged car, and to come forward with any information that might prove to be decisive in reuniting the missing couple with their loved ones.
