Yesterday in San Leandro a car fire began to engulf its surroundings. The 10000 block of Bigge Street was disrupted around 2:00 p.m., when three cars were suddenly set ablaze. According to the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD), the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
But it wasn't just the cars that succumbed to the flames. As reported on Facebook by the ACFD, a vegetation fire, ignited by automobile flames, suddenly posed a serious threat to nearby homes. The situation escalated as one of the torched cars was found on the railroad track. Amidst the chaos, a pick-up truck and a box trailer were also consumed by the growing inferno.
In a commendable response, the ACFD's Engine 10 arrived on the scene, swiftly and efficiently extinguishing the various fires. The aftermath concluded with no reported injuries, but the same could not be said for the unfortunate cars and vegetation that faced the brunt of the raging flames.
