Yesterday, West Oakland was disrupted by the harrowing sound of gunfire. The incident took place near the intersection of 3rd and Linden streets, where a crowd had gathered for a post funeral meal at a local event center, according to Henry Lee from KTVU. The resulting chaos left one woman killed and a second victim injured.

According to KTVU, the Oakland Police Department received multiple calls regarding the shooting at around 4:45 p.m. Responding officers discovered the first gunshot victim at the scene, and Oakland Fire Department and medical personnel soon arrived to administer aid. Not long after, they learned that a second victim had self-transported themselves to a local hospital.
In the aftermath, KTVU's aerial coverage revealed evidence markers scattered across the crime scene. Among the victims, one was pronounced dead on the scene, while the other nursing their injuries. Investigators strive to piece together the sequence of events, delving into the motives behind this act.
As of now, no suspect information has been released, and the circumstances that led to, this violence remains unclear. The Oakland Police Department continues to investigate the homicide.
