In the early hours of Saturday, Livermore Police officers stopped a speeding white GMC Envoy near First and Scott Streets. The incident led to the apprehension of a convicted felon for possessing a firearm and other offenses. According to the Livermore Police Department, the driver, identified as 37-year-old David Hutchinson of Modesto, was found to be on searchable probation and had a suspended driver's license.
During the search of the vehicle, the officers discovered the criminal in possession of a loaded handgun and an Axon Taser Pulse. The officers arrested Hutchinson on several charges, including felon in possession of a firearm. Hutchinson was subsequently booked into Santa Rita Jail.
Hutchinson now faces the possibility of a more extended jail term due to the additional charges.
