Early morning yesterday, Albany Police Officers observed an unsettling scene. According to the City of Albany's official release, a security guard had reported a man jumping over a fence between two properties.
The man, a 33-year-old from Richmond, was intending to steal bicycles from the property. Albany Police swiftly detained the suspect but soon discovered something more. A loaded 9mm handgun was found in his possession, in addition to a high-capacity magazine and an extra loaded magazine.
The suspect was booked into Santa Rita Jail with charges including prowling, carrying a loaded and concealed firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
