MiaRochel Jones, a 34-year-old woman living with various mental health conditions and health issues, had disappeared from her mother's Hayward residence. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office and the public combined their efforts to locate her safely. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office announced that MiaRochel was found by a good Samaritan who encountered her at a bus stop in San Lorenzo.
It was just earlier this week on Monday, when the Alameda County Sheriff's Office called for public assistance to locate Jones, sharing her missing person flyer and asking community members to remain vigilant, especially near public transit hubs. Concerned for her well-being due to her bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, and an unknown liver condition, the community took to social media and the streets to aid the ongoing search.
MiaRochel had left her mother's home without her purse, phone, or money, last seen wearing her blue sleeping gown and pink slippers. Already familiar with public transit, especially AC transit buses, the public was urged to search for her in Hayward, San Leandro, and Oakland, where she was known to frequent venues such as the Creekside Shopping Center and the Bayfair Mall.
Following her discovery, a discomforted MiaRochel was escorted to a nearby hospital for treatment of foot pain - potentially a result of walking all night in her slippers. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office expressed their gratitude to the kind community member who took notice of the search and ultimately located Jones safely.
