With the persistent clang of construction and the promise of progress, the familiar sight of orange striping has returned to the northbound and southbound I-5 freeways lanes. According to an announcement on Monday, the pilot striping program seeks to remind drivers to remain vigilant and adhere to the 55 mph speed limit in active work zones in the city of Carlsbad. This measure will remain in effect until highway improvements are completed in early 2025, signaling a long-term commitment to safety and caution amid the conveyor belt of progress.
Caltrans and SANDAG Region Build NCC crews have been instrumental in restoring the orange striping to active work zones on both the northbound and southbound I-5 freeway lanes from August 28th to 31st. As previously published on Monday, the collaborative efforts of these teams ensure the pilot program's successful implementation, allowing for smoother transitions between areas of ongoing construction work.
