Alameda County residents are breathing a sigh of relief as the runaway 12-year-old boy, Randy Yanez, who vanished from his Hayward home on Friday, August 25, has now been found safe and unharmed, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office announced.

Randy was last seen around 3:30 PM on August 25, dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants. The boy was known to frequently use public transport and had a penchant for visiting San Francisco. With no money or means, it was feared that he may have made his way to the metropolitan city. Randy, however, had his cell phone with him when he left his residence.

Considering the urgency of the situation, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, along with the local law enforcement agencies, mobilized their resources to quickly and safely locate the missing boy.

Amid growing concern and uncertainty surrounding his disappearance, it was a moment of relief for all when the Sheriff's Office announced, via their official Twitter account, that Randy had been safely located. While the circumstances of his recovery are yet to be revealed, the fact that he has been found safe has eased the minds of many who kept a wary watch throughout the ordeal.
