A 29-year-old man is fighting for his life after a dramatic collision between his scooter and a trolley in San Diego's Logan Heights neighborhood yesterday. According to the Times of San Diego, the man was riding a 2016 Vespa scooter eastbound on Commercial Street when he lost control and crashed into the back end of a westbound trolley in the 3100 block of Commercial Street.

As Fox 5 San Diego reported, the tragic accident occurred at around 3:06 p.m., and the rider was swiftly transported to the hospital with life-threatening head injuries. Paramedics, who attended the scene, determined alcohol was not a factor in the incident. The San Diego Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

In a report from 10 News, the unidentified 29-year-old sustained a shattered frontal cranium as a result of the impact. While the trolley tracks were closed in both directions immediately following the accident, they have since been reopened.
