On Sunday, August 26th, thousands of athletes will gathered from around the world to compete in the Boston Triathlon. Among them, a seventh grader named Eshe Stockton, who, at just 12 years old, is already a seasoned competitor in the adult race circuit according to The Boston Globe.

This Rhode Island native made waves last year when she placed third overall in the sprint triathlon U19 race, beating out college athletes before even reaching high school. Born to an athletic family, Eshe's involvement in the world of triathlons started at a young age as reported by Slowtwitch. Her mother, Anne Marie Almirol, fueled Eshe's early interest in the sport by involving her in various swim activities.

In a recent interview with Slowtwitch, Eshe expressed her ultimate goal of becoming an Olympian, stating, "I cannot stop on that dream. Going to the Olympics would be the best thing that has ever happened in my life."

Though still young, Eshe's athletic prowess has already garnered attention and admiration from the triathlon community with accomplishments such as swimming 50 yards in just 36 seconds and running a 5k in 22 minutes.
