In the the early morning, at approximately 3:20 am on August 21st, 2023, Alameda Fire Department responded to a distressing scene in the 1000 block of W. Tower Avenue. According to a Facebook post by the department was called to a car submerged in the waters of Seaplane Lagoon.
Alameda firefighters discovered an unconscious man in the water. Rescue swimmers were deployed to extract the individual from the waters. As reported by KRON4, the man was found not breathing, demanding immediate medical attention from the skilled hands of the emergency professionals.
The Dive Rescue Team from Alameda went searching to uncover any unseen victims, they conducted an extensive underwater search. Thankfully, no additional victims were located, according to the Facebook post.
Advanced life-saving measures were taken by the firefighters, determined to revive the victim. Their actions culminated in a race against time to transport the unconscious man to a local trauma center, hoping for a favorable outcome. The condition of the man remains unknown, as does the cause of the vehicle's plummet into the lagoon. \
