On August 26th, a violent attempted carjacking took place near the intersection of Morton Street and San Antonio Avenue in Alameda. The incident, which occurred at approximately 6:00 pm, involved a 15-year-old suspect who forcibly pulled the victim, an elder, from their vehicle, and proceeded to violently demand the car keys while punching them repeatedly. The suspect, a 15-year-old, was taken into custody for attempted carjacking and elder abuse. This timely apprehension was made possible, in part, by the vigilant and concerned community members who called in with information.
