Serial offender Jerry Thompson, 29, was recently apprehended and charged with multiple counts of aggravated battery, painting a chilling portrait of a series of attacks on unsuspecting women in the Windy City, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Thompson, a resident of the 6300 block of S. Claremont in Chicago, was arrested yesterday, and charged with three distinct felony counts – aggravated battery toward transit employees or passengers, aggravated battery in a public place, and aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm. The alleged attacks spanned a period of two weeks, from September 12 to September 23.

Sobering details of these incidents emerged, with the accused assailant allegedly preying on women in various public locations across the city. The most recent victim, a 19-year-old female passenger, was battered at a transit platform, in the 600 block of S. State. The suspect had apparently perpetrated a similar crime mere hours earlier, attacking a 26-year-old woman in the 1200 block of N. Clark, and another adult female in the 700 block of S. State on September 12. The charges were described in a Chicago Police Department press release.

Following his arrest, Thompson faced a detention hearing today, at 2600 S. California.
