
In Massachusetts, a murder investigation began earlier today. The Massachusetts State Police, Freetown Police Department, and Bristol County District Attorney's Office worked urgently to uncover the unsettling crime that occurred along Chace Road in East Freetown. according to CBS News.
Authorities were alerted to the crime scene when they discovered the lifeless body of 44-year-old Heidi Chace at 92 Chace Road just before 4:30 a.m., as reported on WPRI News. The shocking revelation quickly prompted a manhunt for the suspect, initially described as a white male possibly armed with a knife by the Fall River Reporter.
The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Matthew Lucas, with whom Heidi Chace shared her home, was found hiding in a nearby shed on Burns Lane mere hours later according to WPRI News. As the investigation continues, the motive behind this brutal murder remains unclear.
